International Oil Spill Response Training and Certification

Roberto Camedda, Managing Director of Tharros Marittima S.r.l., successfully completed the IMO OPRC Level 1 and Level 2 training courses organized by Lamor Corporation Ab in May 2017.

The OPRC (Oil Pollution Preparedness, Response and Co-operation) training program is based on the standards established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and provides specialized knowledge for the prevention, preparedness and response to marine oil pollution incidents.

These certificates and performance evaluations demonstrate Tharros Marittima’s commitment to professional training, oil spill preparedness and marine environmental protection in accordance with international IMO standards.

IMO OPRC Level 1 – Oil Spill Responder

Operational training course for oil spill response personnel, including containment booms, skimmers, dispersants, shoreline clean-up and emergency response techniques.

IMO OPRC Level 2 – On-Scene Commander

Advanced command-level training for On-Scene Commanders responsible for coordinating marine pollution response operations and emergency management activities.
